Sedona, AZ, Pink Jeep Tour

We chose the Scenic Rim and Broken Arrow Combo tour.
We did the Scenic Rim tour first. Schnebly Hill Road is not maintained and is very rough. Don't take your low clearance car up there.
I did this tour 2 years ago, and our guide this time says the road has washed out a lot more, so they are not able/allowed to go as high as we did then. This is a view that we did have looking back toward Sedona.
The road.
The rock formation on the right is called the Mitten.
Do you see the Indian Head?
Bumpy ride.
Some people rent jeeps and Off-road vehicles to drive up here. Other people drive their own.
You can see where the original wagon road climbed to the rim.
More cactus in bloom.
The road.
Another way to explore this road.
On to the Broken Arrow Road...my favorite.
The Pink Jeep Tours help to keep this route maintained.
Driving over the red rocks. You can see hikers on the hill.
More bumps!
We stopped to walk out on Submarine Rock. My tour 2 years ago didn't stop here, so this was fun. Notice the agave plant ready to bloom. The red will blossom out in yellow when it is in full bloom and attract hummingbirds.
Walking out on Submarine Rock.

Notice how this little Juniper? Pine grows right out of the rock. It doesn't grow very fast.
People walking on Submarine Rock.
The view from higher up.
Another view.

On to Chicken Point!
Parked at Chicken Point.
Eagle Rock
It's called Chicken Point because jeeps used to drive out to the point around that square rock...right next to the edge. They aren't allowed to do that any more.

But you can walk out to the edge and see the view.

Next a drive around Mushroom Rock.
Driving over the smooth rock.
We drove from the top of that mound down the rock, following the white trail.
More views.
Finally, a last steep descent.
A fun and scenic tour. I recommend it.
